On-line Gaming
Computers were the first piece of technology and where the World Wide Web was created, therefore the it was the first technology which enabled users to game on-line with others users around the world wide. Computer gaming offers higher graphics, faster loading times, a higher amount of users playing at once and the first communication within gaming.
Computers can either use wireless cards or Ethernet cables to send data over the internet, both of these are high speed transfer rates allowing for games to run smooth without lagging or not responding to the server in time.
PC's can also stream games directly from a server resulting in lower disk usage and games are constantly being backed up, however without internet connection you cannot access or play these games. A application that uses this is called Onlive which is a service that costs to rent or buy games.

PC's can run all types of different formatted games such as Java and flash, you can install them to your drive, run them from disk or memory card, Offiline gaming in a pc still offers high resolution graphics, sound and enjoyment no features or functions are lost apart from being able to play on-line controls, speed and game play isn't affected
Limitations
The limitations of PC gaming is the operating system you are running and hardware of your computer, newly released games require high processing power, high ram, high specification graphics card and latest operating system. If the operating system doesn't match the games needs then the game wont run or even install however depending on the hardware you may be able to run the game at a lower graphics spec although the game will lag.
