Mobile

Mobile Features

Handheld

Mobiles have revolutionised the world we live we can talk, surf the web and play games any where and everywhere. They simply fit in our pockets, can vibrate, play sounds and watch video with a simply press of a button or swipe of a finger. Handheld mobile gaming is revolutionionary as they allow us not only to play a few games on the move but have a huge app stores with free and paid for content ranging from high reswoultion games, to internet flash games and even gameboy colour emulators.

PDA

Mobiles are not  only just communication devices allowing us to contact  through voice connections and text but have built in calenders, alarms and notes. PDA's were very popular 15 years ago as you could use a calender, set alarms and input notes but phones simply do that all for us now. Mobile phones not only allow us to enter information into a calenders but now that they have internet connection they can automatically downland and enter dates into the calender from social networking sites and emailing applications aswell. Applications improve the phone becoming a PDA because you can download programs that will automatically send emails and texts at certain times in the day.

GSM

Global system for Mobile communications was the second generation of technology for mobiles to communicate over and it offered the transfer of data packets over the web therefore mobiles could suddenly access the web and download information such as emails and other updates. although GSM was the first Packet delivery system for phones the download speeds were very slow at first and you would only find signals in the middle of city's. Although mobiles could connect to each other games still didnt have the multiplayer function they may have allowed for high score uploads but playing simultaneously with other mobiles was still not possible

3GGP

3GGP stands for 3rd generation partnership project which was established between telecommunication groups and business to create a world wide mobile phone system (3g). This sets a standard allowing for mobile phone company's to create and produce products which will work across the world on the same high speed communication system. This allowed mobile gaming to suddenly grow because of the online multiplayer function which had difficulties before because of the different mobile communication system, now phones can communicate and send data packets between each other simply so games such as draw free can be played without having connection to a wifi connection.

Limitations of Mobile

Mobiles have very few limitations as they can handle and process a large amount of jobs for us nowadays however when buying a new mobile it instantly becomes out dated because mobile phone technology is evolving so fast also another limitation of mobiles is the carrier charge because for all the features of the phone to work properly you must pay money every month for internet, minutes and texts.
